Typically the first question I get asked is if I accept insurance. The answer is yes and…
Innate Counseling is currently contracted with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN and the Optum Health network (Medica, UBH, UMR, UHC, Surest/Bind). However, Innate Counseling has decided to incorporate more private pay sessions for the reasons listed below:
• You, the client, have full control over healthcare records as I do not release any information to your insurance or anyone without your written consent.
• No diagnosis is required to start or continue services with Innate Counseling as this is a requirement by insurance to determine whether or not the counseling you choose warrants being covered.
• No limitations on how often or how long you receive services, you get to decide with your therapist what makes the most sense for your individual needs.
• No surprise fees if insurance denies a claim, you know your exact financial responsibility upfront.
• Clients can still use HSA or FSA funds to cover private pay fees for mental health services.
There are ways to make private pay more accessible. For example, I can provide you with a receipt or “Super Bill” to submit for reimbursement if this is covered in your policy or you can utilize HSA/FSA. Many insurance policies have out-of-network benefits.
I am happy to answer questions or help you navigate this process. I recommend calling your insurance provider and asking “What are my out of network psychotherapy benefits?” for your clarity.
If finances are a concern or barrier, please let me know. I do offer limited sliding scale fee sessions.
